Joshua 1:5-9

Introduction: During the war, there were two soldiers sent to the enemy camp to spy. The first soldier was very bold, but the second soldier was very skinny and trembled with fear.

혻혻 1) During the famine in Canaan, Abraham doubted the promise of
God in Egypt and introduced his wife as his sister (Ge 12:13)
혻혻 2) Abraham doubted and took Hagar as his wife even though he was
promised that he would have a son when he was 85 (Ge 16:2,3)
혻혻 3) Abraham?셲 perfect faith ??When he sacrificed Isaac as a burnt
offering in the region of Moriah (Ge 22:12, 16,17)

2. The disciples of Jesus who doubted and feared.

혻혻 1) Peter walked on the water (Mt 14:30-33)
혻혻 2) Philip and Andrew at Bethsaida (Jn 6:5,6)
혻혻혻혻혻 (1) Philip doubted completely (Jn 6:7)
혻혻혻혻혻 (2) Andrew believed even though he had some doubts (Jn 6:8,9)
혻혻 3) Help me overcome my unbelief (Mk 9:22-24; 9:25-27)

3. Faith is spiritual warfare.

혻혻 1) Lord, I believe. No, I can?셳 believe (Jas 1:6; Heb 11:6)
혻혻 2) God requested a few things of Joshua (Jos 1:5-9)
(1) Meditate on His words day and night
(Ps 119:92; Jer 23:29; Eph 6:17)
혻혻혻혻혻 (2) Pray and be filled with the Holy Spirit
(Isa 41:14,15; Zec 4:6; Jer 33:3)
(3) Harden your heart
(Dt 31:8; Pr 4:23; Heb 13:5,6; 1 Jn 4:4)
혻혻 3) Confess your faith boldly before your enemy
(1) David confessed his faith before King Saul (1Sa 17:34-37)
(2) David confessed his faith before Goliath
(1Sa 17:45-47; Pr 29:25,26)

Conclusion: Every person has a painful fight with doubt and fear in their soul, except the people who receive a special gift of faith. Faith doesn?셳 mean there is no doubt and fear. It means believing by overcoming doubt and fear.
