The Way

John 14 : 4 - 6

Introduction: The way and our lives cannot be separated. There are many different kinds of ways, such as narrow path, ocher road, paddy path, gravel road, thorny path, new highway, national highway, freeway etc. In every country, the road condition indicates the standard of living in the country.


1. Humankind lost their way
혻혻 1) The Garden of Eden has the road in all directions (Ge 2:15)
혻혻혻혻혻 That?셲 how he could rule over all creatures of God
혻혻 2) Adam became a lost existence after he sinned against God and was deported from the Garden of Eden (Ge 3:24)
혻혻혻혻혻 (1) Returning way to the Garden of Eden is blocked
혻혻혻혻혻 (2) The way of communicating with God is blocked
혻혻혻혻혻 (3) The way of living is blocked with curse
혻혻혻혻혻 (4) The way of eternal life is blocked
혻혻혻혻혻 : Fell into a swamp of calamity by losing position and identity (Jer 2:19)

2. Human history is that of searching for the way
혻혻 1) The way of God and eternal life ??Religion
혻혻 2) The way of liberating from curse ??Government
혻혻 3) The way of civilization ??The science and learning
혻혻 4) The way of long life and heath ??Medical Science
혻혻혻혻혻 : But, these ways are not found yet (Ps 107:10-12, Heb 3:10)

3. I am the way
혻혻 1) The way of God. In other words, the way of atonement of Jesus??cross (Jn 1:18, 3:16)
(1) The way of forgiveness and righteousness혻(1Jn 2:2)
(2) The way of holiness and fullness of the Holy Spirit혻(1Co 6:11)
(3) The way of healing (Mal 4:2, 1Pe 2:24)
(4) The way of blessing and prosperity혻(Gal 3:14-15)
(5) The way of eternal life and the kingdom of heaven (2Co 5:1, Rev 21:4)
혻혻 2) The way of truth ??The way to God, The way to live with God (Ac 4:12, Heb 10:19-20)
혻혻 3) The way of life ??The way of living in this age and in the age to come. The way of joy, happiness and success (Ps 16:11, Jn 10:28)

4. In our daily life, we are searching for the way
혻혻 - We are searching for the way of success, blessing, peace and happiness
1) Pursuit the way of following the kingdom of God and Jesus (Pr 3:5-6, 4:13, Mt 6:33, Jn 15:7)
?€?€?€: sacrament, worship service, prayer
혻혻 2) God prepared the way
(1) Find the way ??The way of the Red Sea: Do not make the way by force
?€?€(Ex 14:13-14, 21-22, 23:20)
(2) The way that led by God - A pillar of cloud and fire at the desert: Do not disobey
?€?€(Nu 9:17, 22-23)
혻혻혻혻혻 (3) The way that God protected ??An attack of Amalekites at Rephidim (Ex 17:16)
혻혻혻혻혻혻혻혻혻 : God protects us when we follow the way of God (Isa 41:10, 1Jn 4:4)


Conclusion: A person who has the highway to Zion in his/her heart is blessed. The highway to Zion is the way to God and the way to serve Jesus.
