The Grace That Jesus Achieved on the Cross

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
?쏷herefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!??
Introduction: According to Darwin and his theory of evolution, organisms are steadily changing, and those organisms are transformed over a period of time. However, this is only theory, and there is no evidence in fossils to prove this theory. The Bible clearly teaches that God created creatures according to their kinds. Evolution means that an organism gradually changes and develops itself to adapt to new circumstances. However, there is no such thing as organisms being transformed into a new kind. Likewise, by human power, it is impossible for Adam?셲 descendents to be transformed into a new self. Because of this, Jesus came to earth as the father of a newly changed humankind?봭ot to transform our old self?봟ut to completely destroy it and to make us into a new creation.

1. Jesus cleansed our old self (Eph 4:22).
1) A person who falls into temptation (Eph 4:14).
2) A person who has become a slave to greed (Jas 1:14-15; 1Jn 2:16).
3) A person who has become corrupt (Eph 2:1-3).
4) A person who cannot escape from the former way of life (Gal 5:19-21).

2. Putting on the new self (Eph 4:23-24).
1) A righteous person (Ro 3:24).
2) A person of truth (Jn 14:16-17).
3) A holy person (1Co 6:11).
4) A healed person (1Pe 2:24).
5) A prosperous person (2Co 8:9; Ps 1:3).
6) A person who has received the resurrection and eternal life, and belongs to
the kingdom of heaven (Eph 2:4-6).

3. Our decision.
1) You have to know the truth (Jn 8:32; 2Co 5:17).
2) Write them on the tablet of your heart and look at it (Pr 3:3; Heb 11:1; Ge 13:14-15).
3) Believe it (Mk 11:22-23; Heb 10:38).
4) Proclaim it (Ro 10:10; Pr 18:21; 3Jn 1:2).

Conclusion: We must put off our old self. Moreover, we are to renew our heart through a new identity, and live a new life with the Holy Spirit.
