Faith and Decision

Revelation 12:10-11 (NIV)

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Introduction
To succeed in life, we need to make a right choice and a right decision. If we are always uncertain and indecisive when making the choice and decision, our lives will end up in failure.
The same thing applies to our life of faith. The devil tries to attack us at all times. The right choice and the firm decision are the fastest way to the victory in a fight against the devil that seeks every occasion to make us stumble and fall.

1. The choice and decision of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
  1) They chose to live according to the law of God (Da 3:6-7).
  2) They decided not to worship the idol despite the decree of King Nebuchadnezzar (Da 3:16-18).
  3) God was pleased with their faith (Da 3:25-27, 28, 30).

2. The choice and decision of Daniel
  1) He chose to worship God through thick and thin (Da 6:7).
  2) He risked his life and decided to disobey the king to worship God (Da 6:10).
  3) God was pleased with his faith (Da 6:22-23, 24, 28).

3. The faith and decision of Esther
  1) She relied on God through fasting and prayer during the crisis (Est 4:16-17).
  2) She decided to risk her life and go to the king. She received God’s help and grace (Est 5:1-3, 8:11-13).

4. To win in a fight against the devil
  1) A clear understanding about the blood of the Lamb (Rev 12:10-11, 1Pe 1:19)
  2) A clear and definite testimony (Rev 12:11, Ps 118:5-7)
  3) An indomitable decision: “If I perish, I perish.” (1Pe 5:8-9, Heb 10:38-39)

Conclusion
We need to make a definite choice and a firm decision in order to fight against the devil. The devil attacks us because it knows the state of our mind. If our attitude is uncertain, the devil will never cease to attack us.
