The Position and the Value
(1 Peter 2:9-10)


Introduction: Each person has a different position in the society, and they are treated and valued according to their positions. A CEO of a company has a different position from its common employee, and thus they are paid differently even though they work for the same amount of time. For example, the daughter of a king of Thailand was invited to a ceremony and received 64,000 US dollars for cutting a yellow tape and having her photos taken with people. It was possible because of her position as a daughter of a king of Thailand. In 2006, Bill Clinton received 180,000 dollars just for delivering his 45-minute speech. In other words, he was paid 4,000 dollars for a minute of his speech. The reason was because he was a former president of the United States. People are treated differently according to their positions. What kind of position do believers in Jesus have? Believers in Christ should know their position before God in order to seek and enjoy accordingly His grace and blessings.

1. A chosen people
　1) God chooses.
ⓛ Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, 12 tribes, and Israel.
② He chose us before the creation of the world.?(Ehp 1:4-7)
　2) God’s absolute authority.?(Ro 9:10-13, 9:15-16)
2. A royal priesthood
?? 1) Jesus is king of kings and a priest in the order of Melchizedek. (Heb 7:20-21)
?? 2) We are also kings and priests.
?????ⓛ King rules over the power of darkness. (Lk 10:18-20)
?????② Priesthood is the position that has duty of serving God.
3. A holy nation
???1) A nation must have its land and residents.
???2) We are the land and residents of heaven. The kingdom of God is within us.
4. A people belonging to God
???1) He bought us with his blood.
???2) God sealed us by the Holy Spirit.
???3) Valuable goods stay closer to the owner

Conclusion: God has given us these positions as a gift. We must be grateful and humble. We need to recognize his blessings given to us according to our positions. We must live with dreams, faith, and a positive confession.
