The Lord Says
14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (Psalm 91:14-16)
Introduction: Every scripture is the word of God. God especially attached great importance to Psalm 91:14-16 by saying “says the Lord.”
1. I will rescue him because he loves me (Ps. 91:14)
- Love must be proved by the action, not by words.
1) By keeping the Sabbath day holy. (Worship, praise, and prayer)
2) By giving the tithe and offerings
3) By serving with our body
4) By living a life that is pleasing to God
- God will deliver these people from trouble and trials.
2. I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name
1) Yahweh Jireh (The Lord Will Provide) 2) Yahweh Rapha (The Lord who heals)
3) Yahweh Nissi (The Lord is my banner) 4) Yahweh Shalom (The Lord is peace)
5) Yahweh Roi (The Lord is my shepherd) 6) Yahweh Tsidkenu (The Lord Our Righteousness)
7) Yahweh Mekadishekem (The Lord who sanctifies and makes you holy)
8) Yahweh Shammah (The Lord is there)
- Our faith and relationship with God is correctly founded when we know his name.
God says that he will protect those people who know his name.
3. He will call upon me, and I will answer him
1) Set a prayer time
2) Fasting prayer
3) Early morning prayer and night prayer
4) Praying at the prayer mountain
5) Determined and unflinching prayer
- God answers these prayers
4. I will deliver him from trouble and honor him
1) Trouble at the Red Sea
2) Opportunity to meet God who is greater than the trouble
3) Great faith turns evil into good. God causes all things to work together for good.
5. I will give him long life and show him my salvation
1) Healthy long life
2) Eternal long life
- These are the fruit of salvation of the Cross.
Conclusion: We will find great comfort and courage when we remember, contemplate, and believe all these words in the Scriptures.
