If You Believed, You Would See the Glory
Heb 11:1~3

Introduction
Jesus went with Maria and Martha to the tomb of Lazarus and commanded Martha to move the stone from the entrance of the cave.

1. What is faith?
1) Being sure of what we hope for
a. We all have something we are hoping for
b. Faith is the practical ability to achieve that hope. Faith is like the root of the tree you wish to have. Once the root is planted, branches and leaves will grow from it to form the tree.
2) Being certain of what we do not see. A title deed in your hand is what proves the ownership to your house and land; even though you do not see it.
3) What is seen is not made out of what is visible but what is invisible
a. The universe was not made by itself. It came into being by the invisible hand of God.
b. Everything that is seen is revealed through faith in something that cannot be seen.

2. How do we obtain faith?
1) According to our portions, God gave us faith as a gift
2) Faith is a gift from the Holy Spirit
3) Faith comes from hearing the Word of God

3. The enemy of faith
1) The devil interferes with our faith
2) Atheism: denying God and every spiritual thing
3) Negative circumstances and our senses

4. According to your faith it will be done to you
1) Faith is the blueprint (assurance, being sure) of a real substance
2) Little faith brings little substance, great faith brings great substance
3) We must have faith according to God’s will
4) You must hold on to your faith until you see your hope become real. If we vacillate between faith and doubt we will lead to failure

Conclusion
In the Old Testament, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, various men in the Book of Judges, and King David were all men of faith. Even today faith is what brings about all sorts of miracles.
