Repentance and Forgiveness
(1Sa 15:22~23)

Introduction
Who would not want to live a prosperous life? I believe everyone wants to have a prosperous life.

1. Repentance of self-idolatry
1) One takes full responsibility for and lives his life depending on his own wisdom, intelligence, plots and talents.
- ends up having a hard time laboring and being heavy-laden
2) One give only a limited portion of his heart to God and Jesus; and wants them to provide him with help at times of trouble.

2. Repentance of disobedience
1) Head-on disobedience against God’s command * (Jonah 1:1-3)
2) A ship was about to face wreckage due to high wind and waves
3) Who brought upon this disaster? The lot fell on Jonah * (Jonah 1:9-12)
4) Three days inside the fish
- Jonah’s prayer from inside the fish * (Jonah 2:1-10)

3. Repentance of the Ninevites
1) King and the people repent of their sins
2) Jonah made a shelter for himself and waited to see the city of Nineveh destroyed.
3) The joy the vine brought to Jonah, and when God took it away from him, he became furious. * (Jonah 4:6-8)
