Light and Eternal Life
(1 John 1:5~10))
Introduction
No living thing can exist without light. In Genesis 1 God declared 'Let there be light' and light came to be, followed by all living things. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (Jacob 1:17).

1. Light and Eternal Light
1) Jesus is the light in the world
① He foretold the future.
② He was the light so that we would not lose our footing.
③?Eternal life
- Man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord for he is double-minded, unstable in all his ways. (John 1:7-14).
- The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his position. But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.
- Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
- When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
2) Life without light
① We cannot see the clear purpose of life.
② A life that is lost for lack of a sense of direction.
③ We become slaves to death.

2. Jesus is the only light
1)?Jesus is the light to all other religions??
“The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid” (Psalm 27:1)?

3. Me, sent to be a light
1)?Believing in Jesus leads me to become?a creation of?light.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come”
(2 Corinthians?5:17).
2) A calling that wants to shine the light.
- The light given to?us is the light that guides our steps for all our lives.
① Faith of redemption on the Cross ? five-fold gospel
② Holistic salvation
3) From walking the way of a wanderer to being a witness to the light of heaven.

4. Keep all His decrees
- Baptism, communion service, keeping Sunday holy and tithing. ?

Conclusion
Human life goes through the stages of birth, youth, middle age, golden age, and death. A life without Jesus is totally materialistic and of no hope. The light is shining. Come into the light.
