Let Us Fix Our Eyes on Jesus
(Hebrew 12:1-2)

What we look at determines whether we become positive or negative. Negative thoughts and minds lead us to negative circumstances. On the other hand, positive thoughts and minds lead us to positive circumstances.

1. If we look at the ground
1) the land of emptiness ? the place where human beings took themselves away from God, where the land is cursed and full of thorns and thistles, the dwelling of labor and suffering - (Gen 3:17-18)
2) the land of chaos- land of brutal competition for survival, land conquered by sins and evil, land where the meaning of life is lost.
3) the land occupied by the devil- land of greed and pride (2 Timothy 3:2-3)
4) the land of anxiety - anxiety of feeling guilt, anxiety of emptiness and meaninglessness, land with fear of death (Job 3:26, Ja 4:14)
5) the land filled with despair - land where people are struggling with stress resulting from problems

2. Look at the sky
- Feeling dispirited, stressed, discouraged, and debilitated due to life in land, we look at God in heaven
1) God from the past who is nowhere to be seen here and now
2) God without miracles - God who does not give solutions to our problems
3) God made by human intelligence - God under the control of science and reason
4) God in academic who has nothing to do with our practical lives

3. Look at the sky and then the ground
- Through worship service, Words, and prayers (Hebrew 12:1-2)
1) The living God, who is present here and now (Hebrew 13:8, Jeremiah 10:10)
2) God who listens our prayers (Matthew 7:7-11)
3) God who controls our life and circumstances (Revelation 1:8, Psalm 123:2)
4) God who loves and blesses us (Dew 28:1-6)
5) God who carries out our burdens everyday (Psalm 68:19, Matthew 11:28)

4. After all this, let us look at the ground
1) the ground where God conquers (Ma 28:18-20)
2) God who makes us overcome environment and lead a happy life (1 Co 10:13)
3) the land where hope is created instead of despair (Romans 15:13)

We live between the sky and the ground. We cannot look at the sky nor the ground. We can lead a successful life when we look to the sky and then the ground in a proper order.
