Greeting the New Year
(Joshua 1:8-9)

The new year is not yet known to us. We do not know whether it would be the year of blessing or sorrow, and the year of hope or despair.
Christians do not greet the new year by themselves. We greet the new year with God. Therefore, we should never look at the future with anxiety and fear.
Isaiah 43: 1-2 tells us about God who will be with us, “when we pass through the waters and when we pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over us.” God also makes sure that when we walk through the fire, we will not be burned and the flames will not set us ablaze. Since we welcome the New Year with the Almighty God who has summoned us by name, we ought to keep our heart with the dream of hope in the new year.

1. The new year living as a new person

1) In the new year, we ought to love only Jesus, not along with other things ? with complete obedience
2) In the new year, we ought to believe in the grace of Jesus’ redemption?the new year when we are born again

2. The new year ordered by the prayer and the Word

1) Our thoughts are renewed and ordered
2) Have a dream given from the Holy Spirit
3) Absolute faith in the Word
4) Speak words that control yourself and your environments

3. The new year controlled and guided by the Holy Spirit

1) Worship and serve God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit
2) Do everything with the Holy Spirit

4. The new year preparing for the second coming of Jesus

1) The life of passenger and wanderer, always ready to take a leave
2) The life as witness
3) The new year of sharing love and happiness

Who knows what if 2012 may be the last year in the earth? Do not be tempted by the worldly things that are false and void. Rather, depend on the grace of the Cross of Jesus Christ and march forward the Kingdom of the heaven in the new year.
