Word and Reality
(Romans 10:7-10)

God created the heaven and the earth with His Word. It is such a great privilege and amazing blessing that we can speak as God does. Describing Jesus, the Bible says the Word was made flesh. We control the environment and create a new world with words.

1. God and the Word
- God heeds to the words we say
1) 12 spies sent to the land of Canaan as messengers of Moses
① Report from 10 of the spies
② Report from Joshua and Caleb
?
2. Humans and the Word
1) Salvation and confession of one's faith - Apostle Peter's salvation and confession of faith
2) The Word and faith - Peter who believed in and acted upon the Word
① He threw a net, depending on the Word
② He walked on waters following the Word
3) His confession of the Word which marveled Jesus
① A confession of faith by a centurion, whose servant was severely ill from stroke, which touched the heart of Jesus
② In Sidon, Jesus met with the mother whose daughter was demon-possessed.
4) Jesus did the works of salvation, healing, transformation, and creation through the Word
?
3. A confession to change oneself
1) Our brain is incapable of telling the difference between word and reality
- “A brain cannot see the difference between word and reality. If you say, "I like it, thank you, I love you", your brain would secrete hormones related to happiness such as serotonin and dopamine. If you say, "I'm irritated, I am worn out, I wish I was dead", however, it would lead your brain secrete stress hormones". (Professor Jongmin Woo, a psychiatrist at Paik Hospital)
2) To gain attitude and strength of one's life
① Speak of things that are not as if they were - One's word controls his brain
② Develops oneself
③ Changes one's children and neighbors
?
Word is an absolutely crucial factor in changing and creating our lives. It changes our thoughts, draws dreams, demonstrates faith, and performs the work of creation.
