The Disease Named Death
(John 11:17-26)

We are all people who are seized by the disease named death. Without exception, all of us will die. Due to old age and sickness, we die. We go to war and die as well. In addition we die due to many kinds of accidents.

1. Death brings so much pain
A) There are those who die without any pain
B) Because he left the people whom he really loved, and left behind his home, title, and reputation going forth into an unknown future, how lonely, sad, and troubled he must have been!
(James 4:13-14)

2. Where will I go after death?
A) The places where the rich man and Lazarus went (Luke 16:22-24)
B) What are heaven and hell like? (Luke 23:43; Revelation 2:7)

3. Jesus and heaven
A) The one who came from heaven (John 3:1-2)
B) The Lord who reveals the power of heaven (Matthew 12:28)
- He casts out demons and heals all kinds of diseases (Mark 16:17-18)
In order to fill the needs of human living, he turned water into wine, he performed the miracle of the five loaves and two fish, helped Peter with the miraculous catch of fish, and allowed Peter to walk on water

4. The redemptive death and resurrection of the Lord
A) Jesus resurrected into a person with flesh and bond (John 20:24-29)
B) The Lord who promised to come again (John 14:1-3)
C) He allows us to experience his presence through the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-18)

Through the death and resurrection of Jesus who came from heaven and lived on earth for 33 years, those who believe in the Lord can have eternal life with him.
