The Blessed
(Gen. 12:1-2)

When God created the universe, he created humans to be the most envied of all creatures. This is because only humans were created in the image and likeness of God. At the time of creation there was no curse anywhere in this world, and this world was paradise on earth for Adam and Eve. However, after they sinned against God, they were banished from Eden and had to live a life full of suffering and their spirits died so that they became atheistic humanists.

1. God’s absolute sovereign blessing
1) Blessings can only be given by God. God blessed Abraham, made his name great, and made him become a blessing. (Genesis 12:1-2)
2) Since Abraham was a blessing, his neighbors experienced blessings or curses based on their relationship with him.
3) Blessings don’t follow circumstances, rather they follow people
① God told Abraham that he would bless him, and bless those who bless him, and curse those who curse him. (Genesis 12:3)
② All peoples on earth are blessed through Abraham. The more people who believe in Jesus and are blessed there are, the more this land will experience the blessing of abundance (Galatians 3:8-9, 14)

2. God’s chosen people and the covenant
1) After making a covenant with the people he had chosen, God made his people perform circumcision as the sign of their covenant. (Genesis 17:9-14)
2) God’s people must obey God’s commandments (Psalm 1:1-2, James 1:15)
① He does not walk in step with the wicked
② He does not stand in the way that sinners take
③ He does not sit in the company of mockers
④ His delight is in the law of the Lord, and he meditates on it day and night

3. The blessing of God and the new covenant through the cross
 1) Through the suffering of the atonement of Jesus’ cross, God’s blessing is given to those who are in the new covenant of faith, and that blessing is the Fivefold Gospel and Threefold Blessing.(3 John 1:2)
 2) The way that we apply the Fivefold Gospel and Threefold Blessing to our lives is through 4th dimensional spirituality.

The covenantal blessing given to Abraham and the grace of being the Jewish chosen nation all symbolizes the grace of Jesus’ atonement in the New Testament. Being chosen by God and being given a blessing is entirely found in our Lord Jesus. The blessing of the grace of Jesus is an enormous blessing
