The Blessed Man
(Ps. 1:1~6)

God is good beyond our imagination. He has made Abraham as the source of blessings, not because he did something good, but because God intended to give him blessings, which He wanted. We have become the blessed people with the grace of God. In order to enjoy the blessings given by God, we need to distinguish between things that we must do and must not do. To prosper in everything and to live a happy life, we must not walk in the counsel of the wicked, stand in the way of sinners, and sit in the seat of mockers, but love and meditate day and night on the word of God.

1. Things that we must not do
1) There are atheists who say there is no God. Also, there are people who say there is God, but try to be equal to God by lifting themselves up. We who love God should not walk in the counsel of the wicked. (Ps. 10:4)
2) Sin is to ignore and not keeping commands given by God. We must not stand in the way of sinners by valuing and keeping God’s commands. (Deut. 7:9~11)
3) Sitting in the seat of mockers is to try to earn respect by lifting oneself up. We must lift God up and avoid all sins of arrogance. (Prov. 16:18)

2. Things that we must do
1) We must delight in the law of God and meditate on it day and night. (Ps. 1:1~2)
2) As the people who have received blessings, we must give thanks to and praise God and be joyful.

3. Life that is blessed
1) A person who delights in and mediates day and night on the word of God is like a tree planted by streams of water. He prospers in everything that he does like a tree by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. (John 4:13~14)
2) Jesus’ life is our living water and His breath is our breath of life.

Conclusion
People who God is pleased with are recognized by God and live a prosperous life. However, the wicked face destruction because they are detested by God. We have become the people who have received blessings by believing in Jesus. Therefore, we must please and give thanks to God. Also, we should live our lives by loving and meditating on the word of God and enjoying the blessings from God.
