Hope and Courage
(Joshua 1:1~9)

As we live our lives on this land, we should not lose hope. If we lose hope, we can no longer expect tomorrow. Even if a life is difficult and tiring, we can have courage to live if we have hope. We can have hope and courage because of Jesus. If we believe in Jesus and move forward by embracing hope and courage, we will gain victory by not giving up and challenging ourselves no matter what kind of disturbance might come.

1. Jesus who comes as the hope
1) Jesus who came as hope of humanity is not a religion but life. (1 John 5:12)
2) The fivefold gospel and threefold blessing are the fruit of Jesus’ cross.
①The precious blood of Jesus gives us forgiveness and hope of righteousness. (Eph. 1:7)
②The precious blood of Jesus gives us holiness and purity and hope of the fullness of the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:5)
③The precious blood of Jesus gives us hope of healing. (1 Peter 2:24)
④Curses that stemmed from sins have been taken away by the precious blood of Jesus. (Gal. 3:13)
⑤The precious blood of Jesus gives us hope of future resurrection. (Rom 6:22)
3) Because of Jesus, we can dream of a life where we may enjoy good health and that all may go well with us, even as our souls are getting along well. The gospel of Jesus’ cross has opened the world of hope widely. Every blessing from Jesus is given as gifts of grace and love and is possessed only with faith. (3 John 1:2)

2. The Holy Spirit who is with us
1) The disciples boldly preached the gospel after receiving the Holy Spirit on the Pentecost. (Acts 4:31)
2) People who invited the Holy Spirit are strong and bold because of the help of the Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:4~5)

3. Have hope and courage through the fourth dimensional spirituality
1) We need to manage our thoughts well so that we can live with hope and courage. (Prov. 4:23)
2) God gives us hope and courage through dreams. (Ps. 37:4)
3) If we have embraced dreams given by God, we now need to move forward with faith. (Mark 9:23)
4) If we make creative declarations with faith, God works. (Num. 14:28)

Conclusion
God told Joshua, “No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them.”(Jos. 1:5-6) This word is given to us today. No matter what kind of situations we face, believe in God and move forward with strong and bold hearts.
