Come to Me, All You Who Are Weary and Burdened
(Matt. 11:25~30)

If we reflect on the history of humanity, many ideas such as liberal democracy and communism have been dominating the lives of human beings. Nothing can solve life’s laborious and heavy burdens. This is because of sin. Because life filled with thorns and thistles started from Adam’s sin, we cannot fundamentally solve the burdens of life unless we solve the problems of sins.

1. All you who are weary and burdened
1) All people born in this world carry heavy burdens of life. (Job 5:7)
2) Labor of life was not originally planned by God. Because of Adam’s sin, all human beings carry the burdens of sins, diseases, poverty, and death. (Rom. 5:12)

2. Come to me
1) Jesus came for human beings who have lost rest. Jesus solved the problems of sins by carrying the burdens of sins of man and dying on the cross. (Gal. 3:13)
2) Jesus said, “Come to me.” Anyone who replies with faith to Jesus’ invitation can enjoy true rest in Jesus. (Matt. 11:28)

3. I will give you rest
1) Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matt. 11:29)
2) If you take the yoke of the world upon you, you will serve the world and suffer from tyranny. However, if you take Jesus’ yoke upon you and only serve Him, you will gain true rest. (Ps. 55:22)

Conclusion
Today, many people are living tiring lives without hopes by carrying the burdens of sins, diseases, poverty, curses, and death. But, we who live by believing in and serving Jesus have hopes. Do not be discouraged no matter what kind of situations we face. If we pray to God, He will guide us to clean waters and green pastures and give us true rest, peace, and joy.
