I Am the Way and the Truth and the Life
(John 14:1~6)

A traveler who lost his way in the desert is like losing his life. God guided the Israelites when they were going to the land of Canaan, passing through the desert. He guided His people with a pillar of cloud during the day and with a pillar of fire at night. Today, God is guiding our way, and we must walk, following His word.

1. What do you look at in the way of life?
1) A pilot needs to rely not on his senses, but on an instrument panel. In particular, when he faces a storm or cannot see anything because of fog, he needs to rely on the instrument panel. (Prov. 16:9)
2) It is the same with the way of life. If we cannot see anything when we face crises in life, let alone on ordinary days, we must only look to the word of God. (Ps. 119:105)

2. Walk along the word of God
1) In the Old Testament, God gave the Ten Commandments to His people to live by His word. He promised that He will show love to a thousand generations of those who keep His word. (Deut. 5:10)
2) In the New Testament, God allowed people to live by following the word of Jesus. God promised that He will answer anything to those who live by following His word. (Mark 12:30~31)

3. Walk with Jesus, the Word
1) The Bible is inspired by God. If we love and go close to the word of God, the word will guide us to the path of righteousness and to a life of blessings. (2 Tim. 3:16)
2) Jesus, as the word of God, made His dwelling among us where the word became flesh. We must always look to the cross of Jesus and walk with Jesus. (John 1:14)

Conclusion
As we walk the path of life like the desert, we face numerous dangers and unexpected sufferings. However, those who love God and rely on His word receive His guidance, protection, and help. A psalmist confessed, “He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.” (Ps. 107:20) If we walk with the Lord when we face hardships, we can be more than conquerors and enjoy peace given by God.
