Do Not Believe in Yourself
(Php. 3:10~16)

Accidents occasionally occur during flying because of spatial disorientation. So pilots are trained to look at an instrument panel, not relying on their eyes. Our uncertain life needs an instrument panel that we can believe in. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Our instrument panel of life is the Bible, which is the word of God. No matter what kind of situations we face, we must not rely on our thoughts, but move forward by relying on the word of God.

1. Do not believe in yourself
1) In life, you should not live by believing in yourself. (Prov. 16:25)
2) Many people do not believe in God and live by becoming masters of their life. (Ps. 53:1)

2. When you face the storm of life
1) Pilots should not rely on their senses when storms come or flying at high altitudes or when they have left the airway. (Ps. 119:50)
2) There are times when we face storms of life and lose our ways. When this happens, we should not fall in despair and rely on the word of God more. (Prov. 29:25)

3. Follow the Word of God
1) Just as pilots follow instrument panels, we must believe in and follow the Bible. (Prov. 16:9)
2) God guides us to His word. When we follow His word, He guides us to a beautiful land flowing with milk and honey. (Ex. 13:21~22)

Conclusion
Apostle Paul said, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 3:14) He lived by having clear goals of life and by following the word of God. We must live by having right goals and by following the word of God. If we move forward by relying on the word of God even when the wind blows and storms come, God will guide our footsteps and give us peace in life.
