The Holy Spirit, the Counselor
(Jn. 16:7~15)

Among the leaders of the Jews, there was a person named Nicodemus who was a Pharisee. He came to see Jesus at night. Jesus told Nicodemus, “No one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” Anyone who believes in Jesus and accepts him as the Savior can be born of the Spirit and the Holy Spirit will be in him.

1. Another Counselor
1) Jesus referred the Holy Spirit as “another Counselor.” The first Counselor is Jesus. After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, the Holy Spirit came as another Counselor.
2) Jesus who came as the first Counselor delivered us from sins, diseases, curses and death. The Holy Spirit who came as another Counselor works to have people repent of their sins and believe in Jesus.

2. The Holy Spirit who is with us
1) When a person believes in Jesus, the Holy Spirit remains in him, and that person remains in the Holy Spirit. In the same way the invisible wind moves air, the invisible Holy Spirit works by embracing those who are saved. We are not able to live a successful life of faith without the Holy Spirit.
2) If we believe in Jesus as the Savior and are born as God’s children, the Holy Spirit comes and remains in us. The Holy Spirit does not leave us and is eternally with us.

3. The Holy Spirit who helps us
1) The Holy Spirit who is with us helps us to live a victorious life.
2) The Holy Spirit helps us to repent of our sins and to live a holy life. In addition, the Holy Spirit drives out demons and heals diseases. The Holy Spirit helps with our prayers, guides us to the path of righteousness and helps us to do God’s work by giving us various gifts.

Conclusion
Without the help of the Holy Spirit, the Counselor, we are not able to live a successful life of faith. Therefore, we must receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Be filled with the Holy Spirit by always praying and going close to the word of God. Then, we will be able to live a life where we may enjoy good health and that all may go well with us, even as our souls are getting along well.
