Jesus the Counselor and the Holy Spirit the Counselor
(Jn. 16:7)

When the death on the cross was drawing near, Jesus said “Where I am going, you cannot come.” When Jesus said that He will leave and go somewhere, the disciples were filled with worry in their hearts. Jesus gave an amazing promise to the disciples who were in fear. He said that the Holy Spirit, the Counselor, will come and be with the disciples eternally.

1. The Holy Spirit who came as another Counselor
1) Jesus worked as the Counselor during His ministry on earth. He was always with the disciples, and He helped them. After Jesus’s death on the cross, resurrection and ascension to heaven, the Holy Spirit came as the Counselor, and He is always with us and helping us.
2) Those who believe in God are not alone no matter what kind of situations they face. Jesus said, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.” (Jn. 14:16) We are living with the Holy Spirit.

2. The Holy Spirit who came for us
1) Jesus died on the cross to take away our sin. He was wounded to heal our diseases. What Jesus did was for our benefit.
2) The Holy Spirit came to us as the Counselor for our benefit. When the Holy Spirit comes, sick people receive healing, demons are driven out and the heaven comes.

3. The life with the Holy Spirit
1) As we live in this world, our thoughts, dreams, faith and spoken words are important to live with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works through our thoughts, dreams, faith and spoken words.
2) In the New Year, think that “I can do it,” have hopeful dreams in your heart and make confessions of faith. Then, the Holy Spirit will work, and amazing changes will take place in your life.

Conclusion
Those who believe in Jesus are not living alone. They are living with the Holy Spirit, the Counselor. We must always look to the cross of Jesus and rely on the Holy Spirit, the Counselor. Then, by the help of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome every hardship and live a victorious life every day.
