A Person Who Prays Looks up at the Sky
(Gen. 15:1~6)

When it comes to living our life, what we look at is very important. This is because life becomes different depending on what we look at. When encountered with difficulties in life, those who look at circumstances are in fear whereas those who pray look to God and have hope in their hearts.

1. Where do you look at in your life?
1) Abraham had no children. One day, God took Abraham outside and said, “Look up at the heavens and count the stars?if indeed you can count them. So shall your offspring be.” While Abraham looked at the stars in the sky, he believed in the promise of God.
2) God is also telling us, “Come out of the tent and look up at the heavens.” Today, we are living in the tent called humanism. If we make judgments with man’s knowledge, experiences and senses, we will be discouraged, thinking that there are no ways to solve problems that we face.

2. The sky we should look at
1) The sky we should look at is our Father God. If we know the fact that God the Creator, Almighty God has become our Father, we can conquer every fear.
2) In the same way fathers of flesh prepare for all things for their children, our Father God in heaven prepares all things for us. Therefore, when facing hardships in life, do not be discouraged or fall in despair. We must go before our Father God and pray.

3. Dwell in the shadow of the cross
1) The sky we need to look at is Jesus who was hung on the cross. Even if life is tiring and difficult, we must pray and have hope because we have Jesus.
2) If we look to the cross of Jesus and dwell in the shadow of redemption of the cross, we can enjoy forgiveness of sins, holiness, the fullness of the Holy Spirit, healing, health, the blessings and prosperity of Abraham, resurrection and eternal life.

Conclusion
Don’t just look at the ground and dust and be discouraged. Come out of the tent, lift up your head and look at the sky. Look to our Almighty Father God and to the cross of Jesus. Then, following numerous promises like the stars that were sprinkled in the sky by God, our thoughts, dreams, faith and spoken words will become different, and ultimately, our life will become different.
