The Cross of Suffering, the Cross of Glory
Acts 2:36, NIV
?쏷herefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.??
Good things are not always happening in our lives. Sometime we go through trouble that we did not expect. Then, where is the solution to all these problems in life? The answer is the Cross of Jesus Christ. Apostle Peter proclaimed the Cross of Jesus Christ in his first sermon after the Day of Pentecost. The Cross of Jesus that Peter proclaimed was the Cross of suffering, the Cross of glory, and the Cross of victory.
1.혻 There is God's purpose in our suffering (2Co 12:9).
혻혻혻 Many people are going through the suffering of darkness. However, do not be dismayed when you are going through suffering, because the will of God is there. God gives blessing disguised in suffering. The dreamer, Joseph, was sold as a slave when he was 17. He suffered for 13 years at Potiphar's house and in prison. After all these painful trials, he became a governor of Egypt. Apostle Paul had a thorn in his flesh (2Co 12:9). Suffering is a megaphone that delivers the voice of God to people who cannot hear the spiritual voice. God speaks through suffering.
2. Our attitude in times of suffering.
Normally, people complain and blame someone when they experience suffering. However, that is not the attitude that God wants from us. We have to do our best when we go through suffering (Ge 39:3). Joseph tried his best even though he was sold as a slave and was put in prison because he was falsely accused. He was in charge of Potiphar's house and the prisoners while he was in prison (Ge 39:22-23). In addition, we should be joyful during our times of trouble. The church at Thessalonica did not give up their faith ?쐇n spite of severe suffering??because of their joy from the Holy Spirit (1Th 1:6-7). We must give thanks to God in all circumstances, and we must pray by grasping the Word of God with absolute positive faith (1Th 5:16-18).
3. Blessings that come after suffering (Ac 2:36).
The Cross of Jesus was a cross of despair when we look at it through the eyes of humankind. However, the Cross of Jesus was the cross of glory and victory when we look at it through the eyes of God. Eventually, suffering turns into blessing (Ro 8:28). Joseph received much blessing after 13 long years of suffering. He was not just the governor of Egypt, but a man with great generosity who brought all his family back together by forgiving his brothers (Ge 50:19-20).
Blessing comes after suffering. Therefore, find God's will during the time of suffering. Please do your best, give thanks, pray, and rejoice instead of complaining. I hope you all receive God?셲 blessings that come after suffering by doing your best at the place where you are.
