A Person of Faith That Is Acceptable to God
Hebrews 11:6, NIV
?쏛nd without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.??
We can say that Christianity begins with faith, grows up with faith, and is completed with faith. This faith depends on Jesus Christ. By faith in Jesus, we are saved, forgiven from sin, and live new lives as the children of God and the righteous. That's why we have to thank God and be people of faith, advancing with faith for the glory of the Lord (Hab 2:4).
1.혻 Faith that pleases God (Heb 11:6).
We who have believed in Jesus and become the children of the Lord should live a life that pleases Him by first seeking His will in whatever we do. When we focus on the will, the glory, and the joy of God and put them into practice beyond our will, emotion, experience, circumstance, and profit, we can be acceptable to God (Isa 43:7) and receive blessings from Him (Ps 37:4-5). In prison, Paul and Silas praised the Lord instead of being resentful. Then a miracle took place (Ac 16:25-26).
2. Faith that approaches God (Heb 4:16).
A person of faith focuses on God and strives to come to Him in order to receive His grace and help. But there may be discord between God and us because of sin, unbelief, disobedience, resentment, complaints, and unholy worship. Then trials, suffering, and problems will come upon us. In times of trouble, we must come to the Lord. If we confess our weaknesses to Jesus and repent of our sins, we can come to God. Then there is forgiveness and healing.
3. Faith that believes in the living God (Heb 13:8).
To have faith is to depend on the living God completely. When we are not confident in God who is living and working for us, we easily commit sin and go astray. Moses (for his last 40 years), Joshua, Joseph, and Paul all lived with an awareness of the presence of God. We should also consciously live in the presence of God all the time. Then the Lord will work for us.
4.혻 Faith that believes in the rewarding God.
God wants to restore to us all the blessings that He gave Adam and Eve, that we may enjoy good health and that all may go well with us, even as our souls are getting along well. Jesus accomplished this on the Cross. Therefore, advance with a great dream, with absolute "I can do" faith (Php 4:13) and the Cross (Mk 9:23). Then move on with faith. The Lord will be with us and give us the reward that He has prepared for us (Mt 25:21).
May we approach God with faith that pleases Him, believe in the living God, and enjoy all the rewards that He has prepared for us.
