God Called Us

Isaiah 41:8-10, NIV
"But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.??
The lives of Christians should be victorious every day, depending on God?셲 Word. In order to live victorious lives seized by God?셲 righteous hand, we need to set up a right relationship with Him. What is our relationship with God?

1. Israel, God?셲 servant
God chose us to be His servants. God who chose us wants to bless our lives (Isa 41:8). God held us from the end of the earth and called us from the corners of the land. Through His grace on the Cross, He saved us from sin and despair and calls us ?쐀eloved.??In His sight we are precious. Even though we are sinful, unrighteous, and depraved, He does not hate us nor depart from us (Isa 41:9). God looked after the Israelites even during the time of slavery. Servants of human beings are objects of despise, but servants of God are objects of respect since they are owned by God (Isa 49:5). God?셲 peace overflows from their hearts. Cast aside your own desire and will. Leave everything to the Lord and obey Him and enjoy His peace.

2. Jacob whom God chose
We are chosen by God. The only reason why God chose us is that He loves us (Dt 7:8). The name of Jacob, the son of Isaac, means ?쐂eceiver.??As his name indicates, all of his life related to deceiving and being deceived by others. However, God chose him unconditionally and poured out His love on him. He saved him from sin and made him a new person. God chose us who are no different from Jacob and made us His children (Dt 10:15). Therefore, we should embrace the grace of the Cross every day and give thanks to the Lord all our lives (Ps 50:23).

3. Descendants of Abraham, God?셲 friend
It is easy for people to change their minds. Sometimes a friend may turn into an enemy and not talk to us. However, the relationship with our Lord is everlasting. God regards believers as His friends. A relationship of love is created and grows into mature fellowship. Enoch walked with God for 365 years and went to heaven without experiencing death (Ge 5:24), because his faith pleased God (Heb 11:5). Every day we need to have fellowship with God who is our friend?봳hrough the Holy Spirit, through the Word, and through prayer and praise (Eph 6:18).

We are God?셲 chosen servants and friends. Let us give thanks to God, obey Him, and be abundantly blessed through our fellowship with Him.
