The Wind of the Holy Spirit

Ezekiel 37:1-6 (NIV)

?? The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" 혻I said, "O Sovereign LORD, you alone know." 4 Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' "

The world is engaged in the Olympic Games. A whole nation is impressed by the players who are doing their best to bear fruit from the sweat they shed. We also need to gain victory and win a gold medal in our race of faith by the fullness of the Holy Spirit. In a vision of a valley of dry bones, Ezekiel 37 unfolds the secret to victory.

1. Life like a valley full of dry bones (Eze 37:1-2).

The dry bones in the text are symbolic of the Israelites held captive in Babylon. At the time, the Israelites had been living in captivity for about ten years. They were like dry bones living in despair, deprived of both dreams and hope. We can view, from the Israelites at the time, the wandering humanity of today that is away from God. Many people are after materials, honor, wealth, glory, and power, trying to quench the thirst of their spirits, but nothing can bring them true satisfaction.

2. God who controls all things (Eze 37:3).

God alone has the answer to salvation. Only Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life in our lives (Jn 14:6). Desperate human beings should all come to Jesus and repent, then a miracle will happen in our lives, and desperation, death, sorrow, poverty, and curses will turn into hope, life, joy, and blessings.

3. Proclamation of the Word (Eze 37:4).

God has given his Word to bless us. The Word is sprinkled with every drop of Jesus??blood. That is why it has the power of the precious blood. The Word leads us to the way of life, blessings, and victory. Open wide your heart and listen to God?셲 voice and obey Him (Isa 6:8). When we move forward proclaiming the Word, a miracle will happen in our lives, and tendons and flesh will appear on dry bones and skin will cover them (Eze 37:5-7).

4. The wind of the Holy Spirit (Eze 37:8).

The dry bones were formed into a human image and yet had no life in them. When Ezekiel prophesied as commanded by God (Eze 37:9-10), God?셲 breath, the Holy Spirit, entered into each one of them, and they came to life and formed a vast army. Jesus??disciples also became powerful witnesses of Christ when they received the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost (Ac 1:8). We should be filled with the Holy Spirit to live a victorious life on earth (Eph 5:18).

Under what circumstances have you come before the Lord today? Meet Jesus right now. Experience the grace of the Holy Spirit. I pray that all of you are Spirit filled and transformed, and become the fragrance of Christ and powerful witnesses for Him.
