癤풤o and Wash in the Pool of Siloam
(John 9:1-7)

1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, ?쏳abbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind???3 ?쏯either this man nor his parents sinned.??said Jesus, ?쐀ut this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.??6 Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man?셲 eyes. 7 ?쏥o,??he told him, ?쏻ash in the Pool of Siloam??(this word means sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

Introduction: Many people feel lost as they do not know the purpose of their lives. The Bible says that everyone was created for the glory of God (Isa 43:7). This is why we must live for the glory of God whatever we do.

1. A life born in despair (Jn 9:1)
A man blind from birth refers to a man who was born and lives in despair. Humankind that fell and left God was destined to live in sin only to end up in death (Ro 3:23, 5:15). Our lives were in the dark shrouded in despair, just as the blind man lived his life in darkness. A great number of people still live sorrowfully in despair (Ro 7:24).혻혻

2. Jesus, the light (Jn 9:1)
As Jesus went along, he saw a blind man, who had never been paid much attention from anyone before. Disciples attributed his inborn blindness to the sins of his own or his parents (Jn 9:2). However, Jesus said the man?셲 blindness was to reveal the glory of God (Jn 9:3). God had mercy on us who had wandered in sin and despair and sent his one and only Son to us (Jn 3:16). To us, Jesus Christ is the light of life (Jn 8:12), the light of salvation (Jn 9:5), and the light of hope, healing, and forgiveness (Mal 4:2). Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation for people in despair (Jn 14:6). Are you in despair and frustration and isolated from God? Repent of your sin and come before Jesus who has become our light. Experience his wonderful grace of forgiveness, healing, and the filling of the Holy Spirit.

3. The pool of Siloam (Jn 9:6-7)
Jesus spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man?셲 eyes. He turned worthless mud into the tool for a miracle. We are of little worth like the mud, but when we are held in Jesus??hands, we will be transformed into his servants who perform miraculous works as well. Jesus said to the blind man, ?쏥o and wash in the pool of Siloam??(Jn 9:7). The pool of Siloam was the source of fresh water in Jerusalem. It represents Jesus Christ who is the source of living water and healing. If you come to Jesus Christ, you will be healed, forgiven, saved, and set free from your troubles. The power of the precious blood and streams of living water of the Holy Spirit comes from Jesus Christ (Jn 7:38-39). The man born blind went to Siloam to wash and gained his eyesight and hope. Although we have been enslaved to sin and death, if we meet Jesus, we will be given salvation, eternal life, and solutions to our problems.

Conclusion: Those of us who believe in Jesus have hope, life, salvation, and joy. Whatever despair you face, hold onto Jesus and move on. I hope you all come to Jesus and experience his unfailing love, comfort, mercy, and grace of salvation.
