God Gives Us a Mission
Jeremiah 1:4-10, NIV

?? The word of the LORD came to me, saying,혻5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." 6 "Ah, Sovereign LORD," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child." 7 But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD. 9 Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant."

Dreams and goals determine one?셲 future. As Christians, we need to know God?셲 purposes and plans for us so that we may have holy dreams and live for the glory of God. God gave Jeremiah a mission. Through God?셲 message to Jeremiah, we need to listen to the voice of God.

1. God has chosen us (Jer 1:5).
In His providence, selection, and predestination, God adopted us to be His children (Eph 1:4). We were unforgivable sinners, but through the precious blood of Jesus on the Cross, we are saved and have become God?셲 children. We need to be conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ (Ro 8:29), and live a holy life through the Spirit, a life sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ (1Pe 1:2). God sent the Holy Spirit to stay with believers and lead their lives. Sorrow and despair cannot separate us from God. Therefore, we need to thank God for choosing us and always praise Him.

2. God makes us holy (Jer 1:5).
God who has chosen us sets us apart from sin and meaningless things of the world (Lev 11:44), so we may become holy. God makes us conform to the likeness of Jesus Christ and work for His glory. Every day He cleanses us through the precious blood of Jesus. When we march forward with faith, trust in Him, and fix our eyes on Him, we will be transformed into a holy people, into His likeness (Heb 12:2).

3. God appoints us (Jer 1:5).
God anointed us before all nations and people. To fulfill God?셲 will, He chose us to be His children and appointed us to be a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God (1Pe 2:9). Because of this, we should not live without meaning. We have no time to live in self-pity or despair or to be mournful or lose heart. With our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, we need to march forward with faith. Hold fast to the love of Jesus Christ, rise up amid problems, and reveal God?셲 glory.

4. God gives us a mission (Jer 1:7).
God has called all of you to reveal His glory. Therefore, I hope that you will understand your holy mission and reveal God?셲 glory everywhere you go. I pray that you may become devoted, obedient, and loyal servants of the Lord. Boldly proclaim the Word of God (Jer 1:9). Remember that God is always with you, and convey the Gospel of hope to the ends of the earth (Jer 1:8).

God is with you, and He will help you conquer all problems. God will reveal His power. He has appointed you to be great servants over every nation (Jer 1:10). Therefore, I pray that you will respond to the voice of the Lord, and become His precious servants this year.
