Noah’s Ark

Genesis 6:13-16, NIV
13 So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.
15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high.
16 Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks.

There is no safe place to live in the world that can provide comfort to our hearts. Only Jesus Christ can provide true peace and rest (Mt 11:28; Jn 14:1). When God judged the world by the flood in Noah’s time, only the people and animals in Noah's ark were saved. Noah's ark is symbolic of Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life.

1. The ark of salvation.
The only way to salvation from sin is to accept Jesus Christ (Ac 4:12). When we accept Jesus Christ, we can receive eternal salvation and true peace. Due to the flood, all creatures were killed. However, Noah, his family, and the animals that were in the ark were safe, preserving their lives. Likewise, when we stay in Jesus Christ, the ark of salvation, we can be safe.

2. The power of Christ’s blood.

Noah's ark was coated with pitch to prevent water from coming in and going out (Ge 6:14). Pitch is symbolic of the blood of Jesus Christ. The sin of the world, temptation, worry, anxiety, and concern cannot enter the ark of salvation that is coated with the blood of Jesus. However, if our lives are unstable, it proves that there is a crack somewhere in our lives. Just as Noah's ark was coated with pitch to prevent water leakage, we should check our hearts every moment and fill any crack with the blood of Jesus. By relying on the blood of Jesus every day, I hope that you will overcome despair through the Lord and live a life of hope and victory (Php 4:13).

3. The window of prayer.

Noah's ark had three decks with only one window in the top of the ceiling (Ge 6:16). If there would have been a window on the side of the ark, the people inside the ark would have been worried and anxious, looking at people drowning. Just as the window was at the top of the ark, we must learn to look up to Jesus alone (Heb 12:2). When we trust and rely only on the Lord and commit our lives to Him by living according to His Word, we receive true peace, joy, blessing, and victory.

4. A victorious life of faith.

Even during the 40 days, despite the deluge of the great flood, the Lord’s protection was upon Noah's ark, and it was safe. Although the hardships and troubles of the world may close in upon us, the Lord protects us if we are in Jesus. Moreover, victory will come out of trouble, even during suffering (Jn 16:33). Therefore, do not worry about anything. Please pray to the Lord, entrusting everything to Him in prayer (Php 4:6-7). Noah's ark had no captain who controlled the rudder, no compass, and no map, but God led the ark. The Lord takes charge of the life that depends on the Lord Jesus.

I hope that you will control your circumstances in life. Just as the ark floated on the water but did not sink, so we must live in this sinful world, but we must not indulge in sin; we must overcome it. Do not live a life of failure, but go forward with faith as a great winner.
