A Person Whom the Lord Acknowledges
(1Co 1:4-9)
A person's life is changed when he or she is acknowledged by someone else. However it is more important to be acknowledged by God than by people (Ac 13:22). Today's Scripture teaches us about a secret to be acknowledged by God.

1. A person of thanksgiving (vs. 4)
Paul's letter always begins with abundant thanksgiving (Php 1:3, 1Th 1:2). Thanksgiving is a weapon to drive out all worries and anxieties. Even when Paul was falsely accused, flogged, and put in prison, he did not complain. Instead, he gave thanks and prayed. As a result, a miracle was performed which the doors of the prison were opened (Ac 16:25-26). We should give thanks to God for His grace of salvation upon us and also for everything such as our breathing, moving, and daily living, because they are the grace of God as well (1Co 1:4). God gives a victory to those who give thanks no matter what happens in their lives.

2. A person who has been enriched in Christ (vs. 5)
In Christ Jesus we have been enriched in everything including words and knowledge (1Co 1:5). Enjoying the abundance in Christ requires us to have absolutely positive faith. We should always speak positive words, daily meditate on the Scripture, and fill ourselves with the knowledge of God. Tremendous blessings have been promised to those who believe in Jesus (Gal 3:13-14). Under all circumstances, I pray that you will live with absolutely positive faith with your eyes fixed only on the Lord.

3. A person who abounds in spiritual gifts (vs. 6-7)
Spiritual gifts are the gifts from God by His grace. Those filled with the Holy Spirit are allowed abundant spiritual gifts and His miracles and wonders taking place in their lives. In all things we must put Jesus in the first place. We should boast only of Jesus and give Him glory. Overflowing miracles happen where the testimony about Jesus is overflowing. Wherever the believers of the Early Church risked their lives to witness for Jesus, miraculous revivals took place. I pray that the heat of October 23 Prayer Assembly will spread until the day of the Lord's coming and you will only boast of Jesus throughout your life.

4. A person who has strong faith (vs. 8-9)
The Lord keeps us strong, so that we may be blameless on the day of Christ. All of us should be praised and rewarded before the Lord on the day of the Lord (Mt 25:21). To keep strong faith in Jesus, we must have a fellowship with Christ in the Holy Spirit every day (Mt 28:20). I pray that you will stand firm on the strong foundation of faith and always walk with the Lord.

We should always give thanks for everything God provides for us, have absolutely positive faith, bear witness to Jesus with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, stand firm in faith in Christ and live a life acknowledged by the Lord.
