You Will Be a Blessing

Ge 12:1-4, NIV

Genesis 12:1-4 teaches us very important lessons that all Christians should keep in mind throughout their lives. God commanded Abraham to leave, to go and be a blessing. I pray that in the New Year you will march on with faith and with your self-image intact as blessed children of God.

1. Leave
We all have things to leave behind. We must leave our old selves tainted by despair and negative thinking. God says, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household.” (Ge 12:1) We must leave our place of sin, humanistic circumstances and self-centered faith. Even in the church, we must leave behind negative mind-sets, factional disputes, and superiority complexes. We should not think that we are the owner of our church but that Jesus Christ is. I wish that all of us will purpose to glorify Jesus alone.

2. Go
God says, “Go to the land I will show you.” (Ge 12:1) We have to go to the land of God’s promise, blessing, and grace. God has prepared blessings and miracles for us. Change your thoughts in the Lord, have a godly dream, and declare it with faith. I hope that you hold on to the Cross and march on with faith in God. God leads our ways. Those who seek God in faith and live according to His will must be prosperous. (Isa 41:10) I pray that you will not be discouraged by any trouble and march on with faith in the Lord.

3. Be a blessing
God says, “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” (Ge 12:2-3) If we leave all sinful things behind and march toward the goal with the Lord, we become the source of God’s blessings. Our faith in Jesus Christ has made us people of God. By faith we were given a title, Christians, and we were blessed. Obey the Word of God unconditionally. The Word of God is Jesus Christ. (Jn 1:1,14) The obedience to the Lord is the key to a blessed life. (Ps 1:1-3) I hope that you are always guided by Jesus Christ.

Conclusion
Hold onto the Cross of Jesus and march on with faith. I pray that you will glorify Jesus only and life a victorious life through the grace of the Cross.
