Our Great God
(Ps 91:14-16)
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

The God in whom we believe and serve is really a great God. He is almighty God who created the world with the Word; and a loving God who sent Jesus Christ to this earth and granted grace of salvation by His death on the cross while humans were still in sin. Psalm 91:14-16 is praising this great God.
1. God, who delivers us.
God said, "Because he loves me, I will rescue him." (Ps 91:14a) We may experience resentment and despair throughout our lives. However we must not remain in depression because God rescues us. (Ps 40:2, 91:3) Our God who rescues us asks for only one thing; and that is to love Him (Ps 18:1, Mt 22:37).
2. God, who sets us high.
God said, "I will honor him, for he acknowledges my name."(Ps 91:14b) God not only rescues us from trouble, but also honors us above all people. David praised God who prepared a table before him in the presence of his enemies (Ps 23:5). When God honors us, no one can lower us; and when He lowers us, no one can honor us. God honors us when we acknowledge His name, and completely trust in and depend on Him.
3. God, who answers us.
God said, "He will call upon me, and I will answer him."(Ps 91:15) God always listens to our prayer and answers us. When we rely on God and earnestly pray to Him, He works for us; but when we depend on our might and work, He will just watch us. Be eager to pray. No one can overcome one who prays. It is prayer that we fervently now need (Jer 33:3, Jn 2:2).

4. God, who gives us salvation.
God said, "With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."(Ps 91:16) He grants us true joy and full satisfaction in life and gives us the blessing of 3John 1:2 which says, "Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” Salvation and blessing have only one way. Salvation and blessing come from God who is the source of blessing (Ps 103:5). The way of blessing is Jesus Christ.

There is true joy and satisfaction in Jesus Christ. I pray that you depend on God who rescues you, honors you, answers you, and always give thanks to Him for this marvelous grace that you have received from Him.
