Who Shall Separate Us from the Love of Christ
(Rm 8:31-39)

When people are overtaken by the thoughts that they are abandoned, useless and neglected; they lose their will to live and end up committing suicide. These kinds of negative thoughts not only affect worldly people but sometimes it affects us, Christians, as well and makes us lose heart. However, no matter what difficulties we may face, when we believe, rely on and love God, in all things God will work for the good for those who love Him (Rm 8:28). Romans 8:28-39 shows how Christians should live their life of faith.

1. Who can be against us
If God is for us, who can be against us (Rm 8:31)? From the moment we accept Jesus as our Savior until we are raised up to heaven, God will be with us (Mt 28:20). Because we became victors when we believed in Jesus, we can boldly shout "sufferings go away, I am a victor in Christ." The devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for saints to put fear in their hearts, but do not be frightened and back down from the devil. Look straightforward and march on like a victor.

2. Who is he that condemns us
Many people are moaning in guilt and in their past wounds and even believers are suffering from their past wounds, and it is making their life of faith unhealthy. However we are new creations in Christ Jesus. The old has gone and the new has come (2Co 5:17). Therefore no one in this world can condemn us. The blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross heals our wounds. So at this time, proclaim "I am a new creation, therefore I'm happy."

3. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Jesus loved us so much that he gave his life on the cross. Therefore, this world's trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger or sword cannot separate us from the love of Christ. Neither spiritual nor any physical things will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rm 8:39). Though the world may forsake us, Jesus will never forsake us. Jesus will always be with us and will always love us.

Even if someone is against you and condemns you, only look towards to cross and march on. I hope that you become victors during times of despair with the faith that nothing will separate us from the love of Christ.
