癤풤ive Thanks to God
(Ps 136:1-7, 23-26)

Psalm 136 is the hymn of thanksgiving and praise that was used for the worship services of the 3 major feasts of Israel; the Passover, the Pentecost and the Feast of Tabernacles. In this psalm, the word, "give thanks" is repeated 26 times, and then thanksgiving reaches its climax with the refrain, "His love endures forever." On this Thanksgiving Day, what should we give thanks for?

1. God is good and merciful
We should give thanks for the goodness and kindness of God. God leads our life with perfect goodness and everlasting love. When we give thanks and praise for His everlasting goodness and kindness, we will have marvelous victory in our lives.

2. God is the creator
We should give thanks to God the Creator. God created everything in the universe, and created us with His almighty power and His amazing wisdom. We should give thanks that God did not only create us, but also gave us the privilege to rule over all creatures.

3. God is the savior
We should give thanks to God, the Savior. God remembered us, when we were living a miserable life under the power of sin, death and darkness; and saved us through His Only Son Jesus Christ by His death on the cross as a ransom. How can we express our thanks to God enough for adopting us, when we were still in misery, as His children and making us precious beings?

4. God takes care of us
We should give thanks to God who takes care of our life. God does not only give us eternal blessings, but He also meets our physical needs and gives us abundance and satisfaction. (Ps 145:15-16). At times, we may face suffering in our lives; but we must give thanks to God, believing that He works for the good in us.

Give thanks for the goodness and kindness of God. Give thanks to the God of salvation who created the heaven and earth, and us. I pray that you give thanks to God who takes care of you, so that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you ??even as your soul is getting along well.
