癤풞 Person Whom God Seeks
(John 4:21-26)

혻 God created human beings differently from other creatures so that they may bring Him glory and praise (Isa 43:7, 21). Therefore in this way our God is looking for those who give Him glory and praise.

1. A time to worship God the Father (Jn 4:21)

혻 What do you serve for living? Those who serve the world are destroyed by it. We should only serve God who is to be worshipped solely (Dt. 6:4). Do not postpone the worship. Now is the time to come to God (2Co 6:2b). We do not know when we meet God. Cherish the worship. Encounter the living God through the worship service.

2. The aspect of true worship (Jn 4:23)

혻 God is seeking a true worshipper. True worship is to worship in "spirit and truth". Here "spirit" signifies the Holy Spirit and "truth" the Word. Therefore the true worship must be filled with the Holy Spirit and the Word. Without the Holy Spirit and the Word, the worship is dead. The Holy Spirit must always be in the worship service. The Word of God should live and work within us. Furthermore our daily life itself must be the worship service offered to God (Rom 12:1-2).

3. Jesus Christ, the Mediator (Jn 4:25-26)

혻 The way toward the true worship is only Jesus Christ (Ac 4:12). Before the Messiah Jesus came, people wandered in sin and despair, built altars here and there, and gave false offerings. Since Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins, salvation came on us and the way to God was opened. When we do our best in the worship service, the blood of the cross overflows in us and the grace of salvation, the fullness of the Holy Spirit, healing, blessing, and heaven comes on us.

혻 God looks for those who worship Him in Spirit and truth and pours Jesus' grace of the cross on us. I pray that this New Year you will become true worshippers who only serve God any time and anywhere.
