Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus
(Hebrews 3:1-3)

The purpose of our life as Christians is to glorify our God. To do this, we should fix our eyes on Jesus and keep marching with faith. Today's scripture reading teaches us who we are and who Jesus is as well as why we should fix our thoughts on Jesus in our lives.

1. Our identity
We should know our identity exactly to do the will of the Lord. We are 'holy brothers who share in the God's calling.' We are saved by the grace of God and are children of God, who are made holy by the redemptive grace of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we should live a sacred life as the saints and not be tempted by the things in the world. Instead, we should stand on strong faith to reign over the world as children of God.

2. The object of our faith
To do the will of the Lord, we should clearly know who Jesus as the object of our faith. Jesus is 'the apostle and high priest whom we confess.' Jesus is the only subject of our confession. He is the apostle plenipotentiary sent by God to save us. As the same time, as the 'high priest', Jesus was sacrificed on the cross once for all by giving himself as a sacrificial offering to wash our sins forever. In addition, Jesus has been praying to God to help us as the high priest. Therefore we, as holy ambassadors called by God, should go out to the world with the gospel of Christ to help poor and unprivileged people for the purpose of bridging them to God.

3. The life of fixing our thoughts on Jesus
We've known that Jesus is the only subject of our confession, the apostle sent by God to save us, and the high priest washing our sins, praying for us and helping us. So, if we meet difficulties, we should fix our thoughts on Jesus in any situations. What kind of hardships are you in? Fill your thoughts with Jesus and fix your thoughts on Jesus. Obey to God with your whole heart just like Jesus who obeyed to God till He was dead on the cross. Then, we can fix our eyes not on the hardships but on Jesus who was sacrificed and rose again to save us, the Lord who sympathizes with our weaknesses and helps us. By fixing our eyes and our hearts on Jesus, we can become brave enough to overcome any difficulties and hardships.

By fixing your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess, I pray in the name of the Lord that you can definitely win over every difficulty and adversity in your lives.
