Jesus who came for us
(Isaiah 11:1-5)

Jesus is the son of God who saves people living under dispair caused by sins. This is the most amazing miraculous record that Jesus came to us and the greatest news for all. It is found several times in old testament that Jesus would come for us as our savior. Today we will see who Jesus is through the prophet Isaiah's message.

1. Jesus with the Holy Spirit

According to verse 2, it says, "The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him-the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD". Jesus lived with the Holy Spirit during his life. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, led by the Holy Spirit to be tested and delivered the gospel and heal the sick with the Holy Spirit. Before crucified on the cross, Jesus foretold that the Holy Spirit would come and resurrected Jesus asked us to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Therefore we should be filled with the Holy Spirit to take responsibilities given God.

2. Jesus who delighted in the fear of the Lord
According to verse 3, it says,"he will delight in the fear of the LORD". Jesus always has been delighting in the fear of Lord. It means Jesus served God with his sincerity and fear and obeyed to God. By obeying to God completely, Jesus wanted to achieve the will of God. Jesus has sacrificed and served for others to achieve God's will. Likewise, we should delight in the fear of God just like Jesus did.

3. Jesus who practiced justice
Verse 3b to 4a says, "But with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth." Jesus judges people by looking at the center of the heart, not by looking at appearance. With righteous decision, Jesus will take care of the poor and the humble but slay the wicked. The kingdom of God will come to the place where Jesus will reign with justice and righteousness. When Jesus comes to the Earth again, the perfect peace will be achieved. The verse 6 says, "The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them." We should live practicing righteousness and being humble in greeting of the season of Christmas, welcoming the King of kings who came for us as the King of peace. We should give away hatred and conflicts rather we should live with love and forgiveness in Jesus Christ.
