Parents and children
(Ephesians 6:1-3)

Lives are full of series of meeting. We met parents first when we were born then met brothers or sisters. As we grow up, we make our own family. The family is the most beautiful blessing from God. There are good parents and children in a happy family. Good parents don't make their children get angry and nurture them with the Word of God. Also good children obey their parents and respect them. However, the most important meeting is the meeting with God, the creator. When we believe in Jesus, we become children of God. If we have the right relationship with God, everything goes well.

1. Relationship with God
We become children of God and are entitled to call God our father by believing in Jesus. Therefore, we should love God with all our heart, soul and strength (Deut. 6:4-5). We should dwell in the Word of God if we love God. We should do our best effort to worship God and show the glory of God in all time (1 Cor. 10:31). When we love God in earnest, the great blessing of God comes to our life and God will take care of our life. When we love God, we live a peaceful and happy life lacking nothing. Furthermore, we will enjoy eternal life in the new heavens and new earth as the spiritual Canaan (Deut. 6:3).

2. Relationship with Parents
Children should obey parents in the Lord (Eph. 6:1), as God gave us our parents. Obeying parents who gave birth and raised the children, children naturally learn how to obey God who gave the order in the family. Respecting parents is the foremost important command that God ordered toward the human relationship. We should respect, honor, boast, treat, lift and please our parents just like we do for God. If we respect and obey our parents, we receive the blessings of longevity and living well in the land from God (Eph. 6:3).

3. Relationship with children
Parents should not make their children get angry. Children belong to God firstly and parents are the managers of children. So we should not use our authority and power to make our children outrage. We should think with the eyes of children and consider them generously. Parents should respect the personality of children and cherish children. Parents help children live a happy life in the Lord. Parents should bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Parents teach them to live on the basis of the Word of God, to make it as the principle of life, to make it the standard of thoughts and behaviors and to follow it all the time (Deut. 6:6-9). When parents instruct them with the Word of God, parents and children are blessed in their souls, situations and health (Deut. 6:10-11).
