Wherever you go
(1Ch. 17:7-12)

David loved God more than anyone else did. So he wanted to establish first the temple of God after he beat all the enemies and became the king. Although not allowing him to set up the temple immediately, God received passion of David and had a promise with David. The promise of God was to make David a leader of Israel, make his name honored wherever he went and made his offspring and kingdom strong.

1. A leader whom God lifts up

God blessed David who wanted to establish the temple of God to be with God, and promised to make him a ruler over Israel people. (1Ch. 17:7) David was not qualified to become a King because he was a just a shepherd who kept sheep. Nevertheless, God chose David. God has known that we are not righteous, either clean but God has chosen us to make us his children for a long time ago. (Eph. 1:4-5) Therefore, we should be humble before God who chose us. We should obey the Lord according to his will to give glory to God.

2. A leader who becomes honored by being accompanied by God

God says to David, who wanted to honor God by establishing the temple of God, “I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men of the earth.” (1.Ch. 17:8) Like this promise, God was with David where ever he went and gave him victory thereby becoming honored. So we should live for God, which is our priority. Wherever we go, we should glorify God. Then, we can be honored by God wherever we go.

3. A leader whom God gives grace

God received the desire and passion of David’s establishing the House of God and promised with David that Solomon, the son of David become a King. Jesus was born through his linage and the status of David was strengthened by churches. (Lk. 1: 31-33) All that was given David was due to the grace of God. (1Co.15:0) Therefore, we should make our family and our descendants be blessed as a good family of Christianity.
