The Gospel of Heaven and the Second Coming (Fivefold Gospel Ⅳ)
(Jn. 11:25-26)

Those who believe in Jesus will give the blessing of eternal life and there will be heaven after death. On the contrary, those who do not believe in Jesus will go to the hell with flaming forever.

1. Death and the resurrection
Death is the last in this world and the beginning of in the eternal life. The bible says that death is the moment of sleeping. When we face death, our spirit and body will be separated. The spirit will go heaven while the body falls asleep in the world. When Jesus comes again, the sleeping body will be awake with the spirit and resurrected to see and meet Jesus again. Jesus saw the dead Lazarus. Jesus said that Lazarus fell asleep. For Martha who was deeply sad before the death of Lazarus, Jesus said He Himself is the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in Jesus will live, even though they die and whoever lives and believes in Jesus will never die. (Jn. 11:25-26) Likewise, when the last day comes, we will be changed and see Jesus thereby overcoming the death eventually to gain victory. Therefore, keep marching with faith and being armed with the faith of resurrection.

2. Heaven prepared for us
Heaven is prepared for those who believe in Jesus after death. Jesus went to heaven earlier to prepare the place for us to live. Then, Jesus will come again to bring us there. (Jn. 14:2-3) When we go heaven in time, we will be like kings to praise our Lord. When the Gospel reaches all over the corner, Jesus will come again surely. Therefore, we should look forward to seeing Jesus again and try to do our earnest efforts to spread the gospel as the witness of Gospel.

3. The second coming of Jesus
When Christ’s coming, the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever as promised heaven. (1Th. 4:16-17) The world is temporary place for us to live as strangers for a while. We should put our hope into heaven. The early Christians had a strong faith of coming Jesus so they confessed “Maranatha.” Also, many Korean Christians and churches have overcome difficult moments such as Japanese ruling with the faith of Advent. Likewise, we should have concrete and unshakable faith toward heaven. By doing so, we will live our life fully with our best efforts for the glory of God until Jesus comes again.
