It Is Good to Be near God
(Ps. 73:21?25, 28)

As we are created as spiritual beings, we feel the thirst of the soul and emptiness of the heart which are not met in the world. Only God can satisfy our spiritual thirst as God is our Creator and the key to various problems.

1. Imperfect human
No one is perfect in the world. Everyone feels weak when he or she faces hardships and adversities. When we realize our weakness before God, we will experience the grace of God. The Apostle Paul confessed that he was once a blasphemer, persecutor, and violent man. And he added that he was the worst sinner but was saved by the grace of God. (1 Tim 1:13-15) We were like the heads of the sinners, but we now become the children of God thanks to the grace of Jesus. By realizing our imperfection, we should fix our eyes on God who helps us to be perfect and take care of us.

2. Perfect God
When we are living with God, God will hold us tightly even we are not perfect. God leads us with his wisdom. (Ps. 73:23-24) David confessed that “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want … I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” (Ps. 23:1, 6) While we are living in the harsh world, we must trust and rely on God alone. Every time we breathe, we should seek for the help of God by depending on God, who becomes our everything. Then, God is with us all the time, filling our needs, and leading us to the best ways.

3. The blessing of being near God
When imperfect humans come closer to God, who is perfect, the blessing comes to them. (Ps. 73:28) God promised to his people through Moses, saying that the LORD wanted to bless them, keep them, be gracious to them, and give them peace. (Num 6:24-26) God becomes the origin of blessing. Therefore, when we put our faith in God, serve God and live according to God’s will, God will give us countless blessings. With the Word of God, sincere prayers, and praises to God, we can come near God so that we can enjoy and proclaim the blessings of God all over the world.
