His Favor Lasts a Lifetime
(Psalm 30:4-6)
The God in whom we believe and whom we serve is truly good, graciously bestowing His mercy upon us each day. Every breath we take, and each moment of our lives unfolds through His divine grace. Therefore, let us fix our eyes on the Lord of grace, trusting in Him and depending wholly upon Him alone. Indeed, He will deliver us from all our troubles and despair and renew us with fresh strength and hope.
1. Life of gratitude and praise
God is the One who delivers us whenever we face despair and adversity. Even in the midst of life’s crises, like a deep pit, the Lord lifts us up and firmly establishes us upon an unshakable rock, making our lives secure once again (Psalm 40:2). Therefore, we must remember the grace of the Lord and come before Him each day with thanksgiving and praise (Psalm 30:4). A life of gratitude and praise is God’s joy, and it is the path that fills our lives with joy and peace. As we faithfully offer our thanksgiving and praise with all our heart, the Lord will abundantly pour out His saving grace upon us.

2. God, who turns despair into hope
There are times in our lives when sorrow and despair come upon us. Yet God is the One who resolves every trouble and is the source of absolute hope. When God comes near, darkness vanishes and despair is transformed into hope. At times, even the wrath God displays is an expression of His love, intended to lead us to repentance. God's anger lasts but a moment, yet His grace, that restores us, endures forever (Psalm 30:5). No matter how deep our despair may be, when we trust in God and depend upon Him, our sorrow will be turned into joy, and our tears into praise. Moreover, when we patiently endure suffering and maintain our faith in the midst of sufferings, our lives become refined into something stronger and more beautiful (Romans 5:3?4). Therefore, we must continually live lives of praise toward the Lord who is our absolute hope, and offer gratitude to God, who graciously pours out His mercy upon us.

3. Unshakable faith
When everything in life is prosperous and going well, we must be armed with an unwavering faith. This is essential because, during times of success our focus can easily become distracted by worldly matters rather than remain fixed upon God. When our lives are thriving, we might wrongly believe that our accomplishments result from our own strength. However, if the Lord turn His face away, even a life that seems as secure as a mountain can suddenly collapse (Psalm 30:7). Therefore, we must always remember the grace of the Lord and live with a humble heart. The moment we think we are standing firm is precisely when we are most vulnerable to falling (1 Corinthians 10:12). Thus, we must stand firm in faith and walk daily with the Lord in gratitude (Colossians 2:6?7). May we all place our complete trust in God, who is our refuge and our rock, and stand firmly upon an unwavering faith.
