A Victorious Life Through Faith
(1 John 5:4-6)
Life is given only once. Therefore, it must be lived with meaning and purpose. Yet the Apostle Paul warned that in the last days, the world would be filled with sin and pleasure. Indeed, we are living in such a time now. For this reason, we must fix our eyes solely on the Lord with a faith of absolute positivity. In so doing, we can overcome and live victoriously, even in the midst of a world surrounded by darkness.
1. Faith that overcomes the world
We who place our faith in Jesus are not ordinary individuals but are honored before God. God dwells within us, accomplishing good and mighty works, and the Holy Spirit upholds us. Therefore, in the midst of a world filled with sin and temptation, we are able to rely on the Lord and stand with boldness (1 John 3:9). Furthermore, when we are filled with the Word and with the Holy Spirit, we do not fall but live a victorious life each day (1 Corinthians 15:57). This victory does not come from our own strength, but from faith, and this faith is placed solely in Jesus Christ. When we are armed with faith that looks only to Jesus, we experience true victory.

2. Jesus Christ, the Savior
God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to save us who were in the midst of sin. Jesus bore our sins, died on the cross, and rose again, thereby destroying the power of sin and death and becoming the eternal victor (John 16:33). Therefore, we who believe in Jesus can be bold even in the midst of tribulation, because the victory of Christ has become our own. Furthermore, God highly exalted Jesus and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that every knee in heaven and on earth would bow before Him (Philippians 2:8?10). Whoever believes in Jesus receives this wondrous grace. The Savior, Jesus Christ, walks with us throughout our lives, comforts our hearts, and personally wipes away every tear from our eyes.

3. Jesus Christ, who came by water and blood
The Apostle John testifies that Jesus Christ came by water and blood (1 John 5:6). This refers to the entirety of the Lord’s redemptive work. Jesus came to this earth in the flesh, began His public ministry by receiving baptism, and fulfilled the work of redemption by bearing our sins and dying on the cross (Matthew 3:16; John 19:30). When a soldier pierced the side of Jesus as He hung upon the cross, water and blood flowed out, symbolically revealing that He accomplished redemption through water and blood during His earthly ministry. The Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of God, testifies to all these truths. Thus, when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we rightly understand the work of Jesus and remain within His grace. May we receive Jesus Christ as the Savior of our lives and live a life of victory through the Holy Spirit.
