Faith that Pleases God
(Hebrews 11:5-6)
Christian faith does not begin with our own efforts or merits, but with a faith that pleases God. Out of compassion for us in our sins, God opened the way to salvation through Jesus Christ. When we believe in and receive Jesus, we are given new life, grow in faith, and live in a way that glorifies God.

1. Enoch Who Pleased God
In an age when many lived in sin and corruption, Enoch walked faithfully with God for 300 years (Genesis 5:22-23). Even in a world overflowing with evil, he lived a life that pleased God through steadfast faith. Because of this faith, God spared Enoch from death and took him to heaven (Genesis 5:24). Like Enoch, we too must fix our eyes on God rather than on what is visible. Let us seek God’s approval rather than human praise, follow His will instead of our own, and live lives that bring glory to His name.

2. Faith that Draws Close to God
True faith begins with a longing to draw near to God. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him and those who come to Him receive grace in their time of need (Hebrews 4:16). We can approach God only through Jesus Christ, maintaining an intimate relationship with Him through prayer and worship. Yet in life’s hardships and trials, we often drift away. When worship is neglected and our hearts grow cold, we must return to the cross. As we confess our weakness and repent, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us, renews our hearts, and strengthens our faith so that we may draw near to God again.

3. Faith that Believes in the Living and Rewarding God
Faith is complete trust and reliance on the living God who works in our lives. He gives grace and reward to those who come to Him with bold faith (Hebrews 11:6). Therefore, we must long to be filled with the Holy Spirit, cling to the cross of Christ, and move forward in faith. Even when we cannot see or feel Him, if we continue to believe and follow the Lord, His glory will be revealed. In His perfect time, God will fulfill His promises and reward His faithful ones (Matthew 25:21). May we not be bound by past hurts or present despair, but hold on to great dreams and hope, walk forward in faith, and become people who receive praise from God.
