Lord, Don’t You Care If We Drown?
(John 3:1~15)
Jesus was crossing the Sea of Galilee with His disciples in a small boat. The weather was cloudy. The waves became violent. When they reached the middle of the sea, the wind blew hard and a furious squall came up. The waves broke over the boat. The boat was on the brink of sinking. The disciples urgently woke up Jesus. Jesus woke up and said to the wind and the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Immediately, the wind and the waves were completely calm. People who are born of the Holy Spirit are not afraid when they face storms in life because they know that the Lord is with them.
1. The time that the storms come up over our life
1) While we live our lives, we face many storms. The storms of sins, transgressions, diseases, poverty, and death threaten us. (Gen. 3:17~19)
2) We must keep in mind that the Lord is with us in the midst of storms. (John 10:10)
2. Lord Jesus, where are you?
1) People with dead spirits cannot realize the truth of the fourth dimension. Nicodemus couldn’t understand Jesus when He said no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born again. (John 3:3~5)
2) Jesus said, “No one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” In order to be a fourth dimensional person who is born again, you must repent of your sins, believe in and accept Jesus as the Savior. In addition, you must be baptized with water and make faith confession. (John 3:14~15)
3) Even though Jesus is not visible, He is with us to the very end of the age. (Matt. 28:20)
3. My righteous ones will live by faith
1) People who live with the Holy Spirit by believing in Jesus and being born again do not live by their third dimensional efforts, but live by Jesus’ grace and faith. (Heb. 10:38)
2) God has given us the grace of the threefold blessing. “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” (3 John 1:2)
3) We must not forget about the benefits of God who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases. We must live a life that always gives thanks and praise. (Ps. 103:1~3)
Conclusion
When the Israelites were passing through the desert after coming out of Egypt, God took care of all of their necessities of life. However, they resented and rebelled against God, and died in the desert. We, whose spirits became alive after believing in Jesus, must live a life of the fourth dimension which is higher dimension than a life of the third dimension. This is to live in faith with the Holy Spirit.
