A Squall on the Sea of Galilee
(Luke 8:22~25)

One day, Jesus got into a boat with His disciples and said, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” It was sunny, and the sea was calm. When the boat where Jesus and His disciples were on was crossing the Sea of Galilee, a squall suddenly came down on the lake that the boat was on the brink of sinking.

1. The story of the world and the Word of God
1) When crossing the lake, the disciples probably had a conversation by dreaming glory they will enjoy in the coming kingdom of Messiah. If we are focused on the world interests, we won’t have conversations with Jesus.
2) The devil puts worry and fear into our hearts and confuses us.

2. The transcendence of the Word and the eternity of Jesus
1) If we rely on our senses, we will be discouraged and fall in despair. We must rely on the word of God and move forward with faith. Then, we can overcome all kinds of storms that come into our life.
2) Because Jesus who is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and the owner of the universe had said to go over to the other side of the sea, things will be done according to the word even if the winds blow and the waves and floods come.
3) Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus performed miracles in the past. Even today, He performs miracles for those who come forward with faith.

3. Wake Jesus through prayer
1) Even if the waves come in our circumstances, we will never fail if Jesus is with us.
2) Jesus brings miracles that man cannot imagine for those who pray with faith. Therefore, we must believe and expect that miracles will happen.

4. Where is your faith?
1) Jesus asked the disciples, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were in fear when they encountered a sudden storm because they didn’t hold onto the word of Jesus by being focused on the world interests. The word of God gives us faith.
2) Read and listen to the word of God. Completely fill your heart with the word of God. The world that lives spiritually, the world where blessings come in all things and the world of healing exist in the word of God.
