The Law of the Spirit of Life
(Rom. 8:1~9)

The Bible says that there are the law of sin and death and the law of the Spirit of life. (Rom. 8:2) Since Adam, all people are living by being tied to the law of sin and death. People who are tied to the law of sin and death are living a painful life by carrying the burdens called sins, transgressions, diseases, poverty and death.

1. The law of sin and death
1) Adam and Eve were under the law of life. However, they disobeyed God by falling for the temptation of the devil and ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They faced sin and death due to God’s judgment.
2) Consequently, human beings who were created in God’s image to govern all things became slaves of sin and filthiness and ultimately took the path of death while struggling with diseases and poverty.

2. Jesus who destroyed the power of death
1) Because human beings are sinners since they are born, they can never escape from the law of sin and death with their own strength. So, God sent Jesus into this world.
2) Jesus destroyed the devil that held the power of death by dying on the cross. Therefore, anyone who believes in Jesus will gain liberation from the law of sin and death.

3. The law of the Spirit of life
1) Those who believe in Jesus are no longer under the control of the devil that brings sin and death. This is because God has delivered them from the power of darkness and moved them to the kingdom of His loving Son. Therefore, we now have the power to stand against the devil.
2) Jesus not only solved our problem of sin, but also solved the problems of filthiness, transgressions, diseases, poverty, curses and death that came as the result of sin. Thus, we who believe in Jesus can live a life where we may enjoy good health and that all may go well with us, even as our souls are getting along well.

Conclusion
We must earnestly pray to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit. When we rely on the power of the Holy Spirit, we can destroy the things of the flesh and have a spiritual life of faith. In addition, when we rely on the power of the Holy Spirit, we can control our circumstances and live by enjoying the fivefold gospel and threefold blessing.
