A New Creation
(2 Co. 5:17)

Due to Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have become new creations. We have become new creations by dying with Jesus when He died on the cross and by being resurrected with Jesus when He was resurrected. In addition, due to Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection, we who believe in Jesus have hope to resurrect in the future.

1. The old has gone
1) Human beings were created in God’s image and likeness. Thus, before Adam committed sin, they lived by conquering and governing the world created by God as kings.
2) However, when Adam rebelled against God, human beings lost the power to govern the land. The land that looked good in God’s eyes was cursed due to man’s sin.

2. The new has come
1) Jesus has become our way of salvation through His death and resurrection.
2) Because Jesus took away our sins on the cross, if people are in Jesus Christ, they become new creations. They become righteous people, the people of holiness and the fullness of the Holy Spirit, the people who have received healing and the blessings of Abraham and the people who have gained resurrection and eternal life.

3. A life with the Holy Spirit
1) After Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected and ascended to heaven, He sent us the Holy Spirit. Jesus is with us through the Holy Spirit today. Therefore, we must live with the Holy Spirit by acknowledging, welcoming, inviting and relying on Him.
2) The Holy Spirit works through our thoughts, dreams, faith and spoken words. Therefore, we must dream about how the old has gone and that we have become new creations. We must believe in this and speak about this. Then, the Holy Spirit will work and bring amazing changes in our life.
