Stand Firm in the Faith
(1 Cor. 16:13-14)

The faithful life in Jesus is like to be in the spiritual battlefield. Devils try to catch chances to attack us. Just like soldiers who prepare their weapons in advance, we should keep us holy and filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit for the spiritual battles.

1. Be on your guard spiritually
To live with the ways of God in the world where sins are everywhere, we should fight against the devils who are the powers of the world. We cannot avoid the battles even we don't want to do. Therefore, we should be awake as the spiritual soldiers of God. When we fall asleep spiritually, we fall down and cannot listen to the voice of God thereby not obeying God. Even if we hear the voice of God, we cannot obey when we are not awaken. The closer the end of the word, the more we should be awake. Let us be awake not to be fall asleep when Jesus come again. (Mt. 24:42)

2. Be strong spiritually
To win the spiritual wars, we should not only be alerted but also be strong enough. St. Paul asked us to be stand firm in faith and be the men of courage. Weak faith which is shaken easily cannot make us win. We should have unbeaten faith. Especially, we should overcome fear. When we are trapped in fear which Satan gives us, we fall down with small things. We should depend on God and be brave. (1 Pe. 5:9) With the power of God but not mine, we can overcome any types of fears. With unshakable faith, march forward to win the war as the strong soldiers of God.

3. Do in love
Attacks from Satan comes from people. However, we should not hate the people. The principle of life of christians is based on love. God loved us so much that he sent his only son to save us. In response, we should love each other. Firstly, we should love God. Do whatever we do with love. Choose to please God. Secondly, we should love our neighbors. Remember that God loved us when we were enemies of God. God even asks us to love our enemies, too. To have this kind of love, we need the help of the Holy Spirit. Depending on the Holy Spirit, forgive and love each other. (Ep. 4:3) Be the man of God do everything with love in the Holy Spirit.
