I will Put a New Spirit in Them
(Eze. 11:19~20)
Jesus came to us, who are sinner, by giving up heavenly seat and coming to this land to be dead on the cross. We are given the grace of God and the new life thanks to Jesus. In this light, we should think how we prepare the Christmas.
1. Have an undivided heart
We should not have divided heart but have undivided heart. The divided heart by greed and selfishness hinders us from looking at God completely. If our body parts work separately, we fall down, losing the balance. Likewise, if our church members are divided with conflicts, the union of church seems to be impossible. What God has given us is the mind of Jesus. (Phi. 2:5) The mind of Jesus is the mind of unity, humility and love. By bearing the mind of Jesus and being united, the beautiful land of God will be achieved.
2. Receive a new spirit
God has given us a new mind with the new spirit, the Holy Spirit. Having followed sinful nature, we have been like the dead man. However, the dead man can be alive once the spirit of God comes. Changing the life is not possible by our own power. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we will live with the will of God. Those who lose dream and vision in troubles will have a new hope, realizing the divine calling of God once they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Let us not be filled with the dead spirit of the world. Rather, let us be filled with the Holy Spirit to be renewed and change the world as the leaders of the spiritual revival.
3. Remove the stony heart
To be united and filled with the Holy Spirit, we should remove the stony heart. With stony heart, we cannot listen to the voice of God even when God says to us loudly and cannot believe even when miracles happen before our eyes. (Zec. 7:11-12) We should get rid of the heart of stone. We should remove complaints, grumbles, deep wounds, hatred and anger. When we come before God humbly, God help us remove the stony heart and allows us to have the heart of flesh. We should communicate with God with the heart of flesh and obey Him to become the faithful servants of God.
